Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to run the operations, security, maintenance, and compliance for our 30,000 sq ft lithium-ion battery R&amp;D facility. The facility includes a dryroom, hazardous material storage, laboratories, and office areas. This role reports to Manufacturing and is responsible for ensuring the seamless functionality and safety of all site operations, with an expanded focus on facility security. Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Maintain uptime of the facility, including labs, dryroom, hazardous material storage, offices, and utility systems </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with R&amp;D and manufacturing teams to enable specialized equipment and spaces—specifically dryroom environments, hazardous materials containment, new prototyping, and R&amp;D equipment</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain uptime of site security systems, protocols, and staff, coordinating closely with the manufacturing team to ensure asset and personnel protection </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure facility systems meet federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and building code standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA) </li></ul><ul><li>Oversee external vendor support including custodial, maintenance, security, and support staff </li></ul><ul><li>Manage facility budgets, vendor relationships, and contracts for repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance </li></ul><ul><li>Organize preparedness activities, including fire safety, emergency response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning </li></ul><ul><li>Document requirements for regulatory inspections, hazardous materials, equipment maintenance, and vendor services </li></ul><ul><li>Implement and monitor systems for hazardous materials management (chemicals, battery materials, waste) </li></ul>RequirementsRequired Qualifications <ul><li>5+ years in facilities or operations management within an R&amp;D, chemical, or manufacturing setting </li></ul><ul> <li>Working knowledge of safety codes/regulations relevant to battery, chemical, or hazardous material environments (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA) </li> <li>Strong hands-on skills with experience managing MEP vendors for more specialized tasks</li> </ul><ul><li>Proficiency with building management systems (BMS), CMMS, and industrial safety protocols </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent organizational, project management, and budgeting skills </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Advanced degree or certifications (CFM, FMP, PMP, OSHA, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with lithium-ion battery environments or similar energy storage facilities </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with site security best practices for sensitive R&amp;D/manufacturing environments </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with LEED, ISO, or other sustainability/compliance frameworks </li></ul>  Benefits<ul> <li>Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience.
