Job Summary

The Service Center Supervisor is a key role on the city operations team, with a focus that blends across managing inventory of vehicles in Bird’s possession as well as in our customer’s possession. Service Center Supervisors are detail oriented with a mechanically inclined mindset and a willingness to get into the weeds. They work with their hands as much as spend time analyzing data to drive their decision making. This is a role that manages full time and seasonal employees and requires the ability to lead optimistically while building a team that is accountable to hitting goals and forecasted targets. This is a flexible role with a strong focus on driving Bird vehicle reliability metrics. This Superviser, located in Frankfurt, will manage the logistics and footprint planning for the DACH region, including oversight of Service Center Associates in Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt.

Responsibilities

  • Owner of inventory management in their facilities and operational footprints. This includes managing a facility to inventory KPIs through first hand knowledge of inventory product and process to ensure tight controls through day to day vehicle movement and the ability to project manage large scope inventory counts with highly scrutinized timelines.
  • This role is a people leadership role, managing two levels--both Bird employees and contract labor or hourly personnel (mechanics and leads). It is essential these individuals lead with strong EQ, an ability to manage up to their GM, but speaking the same language as their direct reports. The supervisor can manage their team to goals and targets to ensure facility productivity.
  • Use past operational experience to help Service Center Associates plan ahead for facility needs.
  • Serve as an adviser to the EMEA Service Center Manager in financial, material, and operational planning for all Bird warehouses in the DACH region.
  • Participate in cross collaborative working groups to drive innovative solutions to complex vehicle reliability problems including spare parts planning, repair training, FM technical knowledge support, & city regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical/ technical discipline or higher. Alternatively proven skill set through former & current experiences
  • 3+ years in an environment combining operations/ logistics/ mechanical tasks / facility management responsibilities
  • 1 year of people management responsibility including recommendation to hire/ terminate
  • Project management, interpersonal skills, conflict management and strong EQ
  • Mechanically inclined and willingness to work with hands
  • Believer in Six Sigma, Kaizen or Lean operating processes
