<h2>Overview</h2>Join us in leading the change!The Distribution Design Manager will develop, grow and provide overall leadership and management for EPE’s Distribution Design department. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design of distribution systems for our utility clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in utility distribution systems, along with proven leadership abilities to oversee a team of designers and engineers. The Distribution Design Manager will also manage, develop and maintain relationships with customers and clients ranging from electric cooperatives, municipalities and utilities to generation developers and public utility commissions.  Qualified candidate must reside in Pennsylvania. <h2>Responsibilities</h2> We are designing the grid of the future! <ul> <li>Direct multiple design teams simultaneously executing various projects and programs for multiple clients</li> <li>Develop a team of engineers by training, coaching, and nurturing EPE’s engineering talent</li> <li>Supervise staff by approving timesheets and running the annual performance review process</li> <li>Participate proactively as a member of the leadership team of the Distribution Design Line of Business</li> <li>Create responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs from clients for new work including proposal creation and definition of scope of work</li> <li>Draft SOW responses for clients as needed</li> <li>Possess a growth mindset to foster creative problem solving for our clients’ most complex issues</li> <li>Promote continuous improvement to develop streamlined processes and tools that facilitate improvements to departmental technical resources via innovation and automation</li> <li>Delegate tasks to staff, forecast and plan their future workload, and run recruiting activities to support growth goals</li> <li>Drive the quality control process for the execution team to ensure the highest level of quality in all deliverables</li> <li>Liaise with clients to maximize affinity, facilitate business development growth, and foster long-term relationship building</li> <li>Manage the health of project portfolio by proactive project management in tracking scope, schedules, and budget with support from EPE's Project Management Office</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>BS in Electrical Engineering</li> <li>5+ years' experience working in Distribution Design with an emphasis on complex overhead and underground designs</li> <li>Prior hands-on experience performing distribution designs</li> <li>Understanding of NESC, GO95 and NEC standards </li> <li>Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools</li> <li>Prior leadership experience whether it be formal or informal management/leadership</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with clients and external vendors</li> <li>Professional Engineering License</li> <li>Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to utility distribution systems.</li></ul> How you can make an impact:Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers, (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
