THE ROLE


We are looking for an electrical engineering student or recent graduate, looking to gain hands-on experience. You will support the local UK team with hands-on vehicle troubleshooting, failure analysis, and component reconditioning. Salvaging and reworking parts to minimise supply chain impact on repair productivity and to maximise the lifespan of our components, keeping key materials out of landfill. This role will help Zoomo to define a new industry benchmark for sustainability of light electrical vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity on the forefront of light electric vehicle development in the electro-mobility space and you will play a key role in us becoming the leading global provider of sustainable cargo and last mile delivery solutions.


Position Description:

  • Design for Service Engineer - The successful applicant will develop and support activities within the Diagnostic and Rework department.
  • Any successful applicant will be able to develop, and report deliverables within a customer focused project team.
  • The role involves interaction with the Mechanic departments, and other areas of the business such as Hardware, Product and Fleet Ops and is critical to the success of the job role.

Duties will include;

  • Capture requirements from the various customer technical interfaces.
  • Formally document requirements and set success criteria / scope for delivery.
  • Monitor, communicate and control tasks within the team.
  • Work closely with the engineering teams in all deliverables to ensure project management milestones for time/cost/quality are met, tracking delivery and addressing potential slippage.
  • Understand and communicate where projects cross over or impact other teams / departments and manage accordingly.



Requirements

Duties will include;

Skills Required:

  • A sound technical knowledge of light electric vehicle systems, with successful experience of technical analysis and problem resolution
  • Understands quality and diagnostic activities with an ability to identify concerns and offer solutions to resolve

Skills Preferred:

  • A university degree in science or engineering-related discipline and/or basic working knowledge of electronics
  • Hands on experience of using diagnostic equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN bus analyser

Experience Required:

  • Successful experience of technical document definition and electrical / electronic systems knowledge applied to vehicle systems
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills - with an ability to apply inventive ways to steer issues toward resolution
  • Self motivated with the ability to deliver with minimum supervision
  • Good level of IT literacy and the ability to analyse and present data using IT systems and Microsoft/GSuite Tool skill sets
