Job Description

At Zoomo, we’re pedalling hard for net-Zero, and our vision is to transition every urban delivery mile to light-electric vehicles. The world is shifting to on-demand delivery and we’re providing the wheels to make it happen. Zoomo is the world’s leading provider of e-bikes for delivery, we’re a fast growing start-up with operations in the US, UK, France, Spain, Germany , Australia and we’re just getting started. We’ve raised >US$95m and are a trusted partner to some of the world’s most innovative companies including Uber, Doordash, Gorillas and Getir. And now we’re looking for more passionate self-starters to grow with us. Expect to join a fast paced and supportive environment where opportunities are unlimited and your career development is our priority

The Role

We're looking for an exceptional leader to help take our Zoomo business to the next level in the UK and Europe. We are on track to 5x our business again in 2022 and are looking for an all-round regional leader to guide that rapid growth.

As Regional General Manager (RGM) for UK and Europe, you will report to the COO and lead the operations of the business in the UK and Europe. You will have regional P&L ownership and be empowered to deliver on our ambitious growth goals for these markets as you lead a team across 4 countries of ~ 150 staff growing rapidly. Your scope will include both the consumer and enterprise country-level operations for onboarding and ongoing fleet maintenance as well as customer success, market launch and operational excellence functions. The regional team you lead will also include strategy and planning, with marketing, people and other support functions with dotted line reporting lines to you. You will also work closely with the regional sales, commercial strategy and business development teams on the development and delivery of new business.

You will play a key role in coordinating the collaboration of the regional team with central teams covering operational excellence, hardware and software product, supply chain and other functions. Overall you will be a critical member of the global Zoomo Leadership Team.

In this role, you can expect to -

  • Drive the growth of Zoomo in a critical region
  • Develop best in class operations and a supporting safety and performance culture by relentlessly assessing and iterating on all aspects of how we deliver for customers
  • Develop a talented team of direct reports and continue to build an outstanding broader and growing team across multiple markets
  • Be a key counterpart and problem solving partner for a large array of internal and external stakeholders across multiple countries
  • Work closely with Executive Leadership Team and Leadership Team members to ensure both regional and global success
  • You will be a critical member of the Leadership Team, and your contribution will directly impact Zoomo’s overall performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with hands-on management experience at a fast growing company - designing and running complicated operations at scale, ideally in transportation or last-mile logistics.
  • Rock solid problem solving skills that can bring analytical clarity to messy challenges
  • Excellent communication skills. In addition to fluency in English, business level French, Spanish or German a plus
  • You have an insatiable curiosity and thrive in ambiguity. You’re known as someone who enjoys continuous improvement and is able to trade off effectively between long term solutions which allow us to scale and short term solutions which allow us to keep moving forward
  • You're no stranger to a fast-paced environment and you’ve had to build out functions and systems along the way. You’ve worked at a company in scale mode before and wouldn’t want it any other way.
  • You have recruited and managed top talent within operations and preferably had to scale front line operations too. These operations teams would describe you as a leader who sets a standard of excellence and gets the most out of your teams.
  • You’re comfortable at any “altitude” - you take pride in everything you do and are equally comfortable on the floor of our biggest workshop in London working with the team to tweak an internal process as you are helping lead a pitch to a major global enterprise customer.
  • Humility is something that comes naturally to you. You’re a born collaborator and you can work effectively in within a global organisation with matrixed responsibilities.
  • You’re willing to do spend at least 25% of your time travelling
