We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</div>What You’ll Do:<ul><li>Assist with the design of EPS (Electric Propulsion System - Electric Motor &amp; Propeller) production system, including line layout, manufacturing processes and automation, installation, and overall battery production ramp planning for a new manufacturing facility</li><li>Apply expert level knowledge of Electric Motors and manufacturing process to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new EPS for an eVTOL aircraft</li><li>Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team</li><li>Determine the requirements for automation, tools, stands, fixtures, etc.</li><li>Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM</li><li>Conduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the EPS production system</li><li>Develop specification for tooling and automation equipment</li><li>Develop efficient manufacturing processes</li><li>Oversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipment</li><li>Create/approve work instructions for Battery assembly and installation</li><li>Support first unit builds and testing of the production system</li><li>Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification</li></ul>What You Need:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent</li><li>3-6 years work experience, EV or aerospace preferred</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Effective organizational and time management skills</li><li>Efficient documentation and written communication</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team</li><li>Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities</li><li>Direct hands on build experience with mechanical and electronic assemblies using sophisticated manufacturing equipment</li><li>Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&amp;T</li><li>Experience developing production lines from prototype to mass production</li><li>Experience commissioning and improving Equipment.  Have a demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance activities, preferred</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Experience with CAD, PLM, MES, and ERP software</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly.  Able to utilize structured problem-solving techniques such as Lean, six sigma, DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W) or Eight Disciplines (8D).  Able to resolve high level performance issues into addressable actions, preferred</li></ul>Bonus Qualifications:<ul><li>Hands-on experience with EV DU (Drive Unit) manufacturing</li><li>Experience with any one or more of the rotor assembly, stator assembly and gearbox assembly processes in an EV DU.</li><li>Experience programming/troubleshooting industrial automation (PLC, robots, gantries, etc…)</li><li>Ability to travel 10% of the time</li><li>EV/eVTOL knowledge or experience</li><li>Experience with high voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor</li><li>Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience</li><li>NX and AutoCAD experience</li></ul>Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualifications.At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
