Job Description:The Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Steel will be based in Hyderabad Nextracker office. In this position, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Nextracker is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in India to support development and management of its local supply chain as local supply becomes more strategic. The Manufacturing Engineering department is responsible for driving the industrialization, ramp‑up and continuous improvement of the steel processes and supplier network through deploying category/region/supplier-specific strategies and establishing strategic relationships with core suppliers. He/She will also be responsible to ensure correct execution of all the activities related to define, develop and launch a new or improved product or supplier. Watch “<a href="https://youtu.be/BtjIN9oHRMY?si=ONfWJ-vFlLZckjrE">Culture is our Passion</a>” to learn more about us.We are looking for someone who demonstrates:<ul><li>Passionate drive to innovate and create </li><li>Integrity to the core</li><li>Enthusiastic customer focus</li><li>Consistent interactive teamwork </li><li>Desire for continuous improvement and top performance </li><li>Organized and structured</li></ul>Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:<ul><li>Lead technical qualification efforts to support product launches. </li><li>Support product development using the overall prioritization, milestones, deliverables, and successful criteria for product qualification and ramp. </li><li>Focus will balance quality, customer satisfaction, cost, and sustainability</li><li>Coordinate product management, engineering, quality, project engineering, applications engineering and vendors to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items, ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs</li><li>Identify, and analyze problems, taking the initiative to implement improvements identified with a recognized business benefit</li><li>Lead cost reduction initiatives for assigned suppliers</li><li>Coordinate the day-to-day activities required to deliver all projects and deliverables on time</li><li>Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues; own root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, documenting results</li><li>Host recurring project meetings and deliver status updates to all stakeholders</li><li>Actively participate in meetings and business development opportunities as needed</li><li>Internal customer voice; an advocate for the customer within Nextracker</li><li>Visit frequently suppliers and keep track of execution performance</li></ul>Here is some of what you’ll need (required)<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or higher)</li><li>(12–15) years’ experience in heavy‑steel fabrication with proven ownership of equipment installation and volume ramp‑up</li><li>Advanced Negotiation skills</li><li>Experience with India steel manufacturers and manufacturing process and regulations. Experience with other markets (like KSA) is a plus</li><li>Experience in CM or OEM manufacturing including 5 years working regularly with one or more factories on process development, DFM, tooling readiness, and product launches.</li><li>Experience in at least two of the following processes: stamping, drilling, laser cutting, tube bending, or welding</li><li>Solid structuring and analytical skills to keep track of multiple projects and vendors, in an international and multicultural environment.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint</li><li>Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)</li><li>Fluent oral and written communications in English </li><li>Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills as a significant part of the team and suppliers are remote</li><li>Results orientated and demonstrated ability to think out of the box to drive results.</li></ul>Here are a few of our preferred experiences<ul><li>Ability to handle ambiguity and respond quickly and flexibly.</li><li>Autonomous.</li><li>Availability to travel national and internationally on a regular basis.</li><li>Experience working in a multicultural environment.</li><li>Ability to report and present a strategy at executive level.</li></ul>At Nextracker, we are leading in the energy transition, providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants, as well as strategic services to capture the full value of solar power plants for our customers.
