This role involves developing strong business relationships with key stakeholders such as pharmaceutical executives, production managers, process engineers, scientists, and purchasing teams in a consultative sales capacity. The RSM will identify and qualify leads, pursue opportunities, and gather market intelligence while managing the flow of pre-sale information between GEA North America, GEA’s Core Technology Centers in Europe, and customers. Acting as the customer advocate within GEA, the RSM ensures a balance between customer needs and GEA’s order intake and profitability objectives.This candidate must reside on the East Coast between Maryland/Delaware and Georgia.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Identify and engage new and existing customers through online and in-person visits.</li><li>Understand customer needs and present relevant GEA solutions.</li><li>Develop technical knowledge of GEA’s pharmaceutical technologies, including granulation, compression, continuous OSD, spray drying, lyophilization, and liquid processing.</li><li>Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry to order placement.</li><li>Collaborate with service and spare parts teams to ensure customer satisfaction.</li><li>Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, and projects.</li><li>Attend trade shows, industry meetings, and professional networking events.</li><li>Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and conditions of sale.</li><li>Maintain accurate records in SAP C4C CRM.</li></ul><h3></h3>Requirements:<ul><li>Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.</li><li>Travel: 40-60% within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; occasional international travel.</li><li>Valid Passport &amp; Driver’s License: Required for travel.</li><li>Background Checks &amp; Drug Screening: Must meet company requirements.</li></ul>Your Profile / QualificationsProfile And Qualifications<ul><li>​​Education: Four-year degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field.</li><li>Experience: Five years (preferred) in capital equipment sales or business development, ideally in the pharmaceutical or process industry.</li><li>Sales Skills: Strong planning, forecasting, negotiation, and presentation abilities.</li><li>Technical Communication: Ability to understand and effectively convey technical information in English, both written and verbal.</li><li>Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical processing equipment, FDA regulations, and standards such as cGMP, ISPE, and USP.</li><li>Work Style: Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.</li><li>Detail Orientation: Proven ability to provide timely and accurate feedback to internal and external customers.</li><li>Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office with experience in CRM software (SAP CRM preferred).</li></ul>The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 - $130,000 per year.  GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position.
