You can read more about us in <a href="https://pacificfusion.com/updates/founders-letter">this letter from our founders</a>.<h1>About the Role</h1><h2>Job Overview:</h2>As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and delivery teams in setting up automated manufacturing lines and in the assembly, testing, and validation of electrical and mechanical components integral to our fusion energy systems. Your technical skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach are fundamental to our success.<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul style=""><li>Receive deliveries and control inventory of equipment and manufacturing supplies.</li><li>Play a key role in setting up the manufacturing site by installing equipment, facilities, and storage.</li><li>Draft and finalize SOPs, safety procedures, and other related documentation.</li><li>Lead the assembly, installation, and maintenance of our fusion systems.</li><li>Support the engineering team during the design, development, and testing phases of the fusion system.</li><li>Help troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.</li><li>Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (including electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers) to ensure systems integration and effectiveness.</li><li>Maintain the manufacturing environment via 5S principles, ensuring that all tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, safe, and organized.</li><li>Comply with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including ISO, state, and federal regulations, as well as those specific to the company.</li><li>Shifts may rotate as we will ramp to 24/7 operations.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>Experience in setting up a new manufacturing facility, ideally in a startup environment, is a plus.</li><li>Experience owning and mastering machine shop tools, particularly lathe, mill, CNC, drill press, etc, is a plus.</li><li>Experience with building out a team by interviewing, hiring, and training other technicians is a plus.</li><li>Experience with automation equipment and processes is a plus.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience as a technician in a hands-on setting, lead or supervisor preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with CAD software and technical drawings for viewing and interpreting design schematics is a plus.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.</li><li>Extensive experience driving a forklift and using hand power tools.</li><li>Preferred candidates will have experience in hands-on tasks such as machining, welding, construction, auto mechanics, or other similar tasks.</li><li>An Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field a plus.</li></ul><h2>Physical Requirements:</h2>This position requires the physical ability to squat, reach, climb, prolonged periods of standing, frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs, and regular hands-on work with tools and equipment in the laboratory.<h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
