Job Description

Project Canary is a SaaS-based data analytics company focused on environmental performance or the E in ESG for energy and additional business sectors. We are looking for a Financial Strategy Analyst to accelerate our growth in existing verticals and new market opportunities. If you enjoy a growth-stage environment, mission-driven work, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the CFO and Head of Strategy (Stanford undergrad; Wharton MBA) and/or Finance Manager (Stanford MBA) to help formulate overall corporate strategy and optimization of our business model
  • Create and build models, in-depth analyses and dashboards to provide insight into financial, operational and strategic decision making
  • Own and scale our consolidated strategic and financial planning processes (forecasts, budgets, long range plan)
  • Facilitate ad-hoc and cross-functional strategic and operational projects and execute on strategic projects independently and with business leaders
  • Work closely with the Operations team to forecast production, headcount and expenses as our products grow in complexity and size
  • Analyze revenues, expenses, and monthly actuals to ensure accuracy and perform variance analyses to ensure financial performance of the business

Requirements

  • Degree in business or related field; MBA or desire to pursue one a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience as analyst or associate in investment banking, private equity or management consulting
  • Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Outstanding research and analytical abilities
  • Project management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to understand technical applications and explain complex problems concisely
  • Proficiency with modeling, Excel, MS Office products, accounting and other
