EnergyHub is looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on the front end to join our Utility Experience team. This team focuses on building user facing applications to deliver value to both utility customers and our internal users.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement software solutions that turn millions of electric vehicles, smart thermostats, batteries, and other energy IoT devices into resources that help create a cleaner and more resilient grid
  • Develop applications that enable utility customers to manage demand response programs and visualize the performance of their enrolled devices
  • Partner with our teams to craft experiences that enable both external and internal users of our apps
  • Introduce and devise tools, techniques, and best practices that benefit the entire team
  • React to and resolve novel technical, operational, and organizational challenges
  • Contribute to our exciting team culture through mentoring and improving the developer experience of our projects

Candidate Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional software development experience
  • Javascript experience required; other programming interests and technologies are encouraged!
  • Experience with at least one front end framework. React preferred
  • Experience with automated testing (Jest, Mocha, Karma, Selenium, Cypress)
  • Experience working on a cross functional team with Product and Design

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Sass, Webpack, Typescript
  • Typical development tools and processes (build tools, continuous integration/deployment, accessibility, stability monitoring)
  • Java 11 and Spring Boot
