The work of a QA Engineer (QAE) & Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) goes beyond just testing & automating. QA Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of engineers. In this role, you will not only optimize your own automation code & quality but make sure engineers are able to optimize theirs.
At Aspiration, as a QA Manager, you will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop a team. The successful candidate will have experience applying technology to build a scalable quality management system. They will understand the requirements of customers and be experienced with managing quality. They will have a wide range of responsibilities from contributing to product strategy to improving time to market by continuously raising quality, in conjunction with engineering teams while eliminating waste and cycle-time. 
The successful candidate will look at the big picture from business and technical perspectives and will have proven experience driving test automation infrastructure, quality and stability for a fast paced environment with new QA development and support the growing scale and complexity.

What You'll Do

  • Work with business, product and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
  • Understand how all elements of the Aspiration ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches that fit the overall strategy
  • Responsible for development of test strategies and integrating with appropriate test harnesses
  • Oversee the development and execution of test plans and monitoring and reporting on test execution
  • Be an experienced but hands-on manager who can build and develop a team and ensure it performs
  • Raise the bar on operational excellence, show thought leadership, and communicate well to different audiences
  • Build and lead a team of highly performant QA/SDETs that will help ship the next phases of Credit product we are building
  • Create processes, mechanisms, and tools that shape the delivery of the product
  • Manage automation roadmap for the product
  • Manage ambiguity and energize the team to stay focused on short term and long-term goals
  • Earn trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control
  • Own the metrics for project success. Define, measure and report on these metrics. We make decisions based on data
  • Be resourceful and find creative solutions to complex technical and organizational challenges

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • Proven track record building and managing software QA & Software Development engineers in test, engineering teams
  • Experience leading the delivery of large-scale systems.
  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with cloud computing or large-scale distributed systems for commercial online services that require high availability and performance
  • Experience in test automation for Front-end / back-end and end to end systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical
  • Excellent collaboration skills including cross functional collaborations
  • Experience with standard QA and development tools
  • Understanding of QA tool development chains and environments
