Pyka is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electromechanical Engineer to join our team developing cutting-edge electric aircraft. This role involves the design and development of electromechanical systems including enclosures for electrical systems, electrical harnesses for data and power distribution, and interfaces for electric motors and batteries. You will play a critical role in both the design and prototyping stages, collaborating closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. Both vehicles are highly economical to operate, easy to deploy, and significantly reduce C02 emissions in their respective industries. What you work on at Pyka makes people’s lives better now and brings the future of electric aviation one step closer each day. Responsibilities<ul><li>Design and develop enclosures for electrical and electronic systems, ensuring compliance with environmental and mechanical requirements.</li><li>Design electrical harnesses for power and data systems, including routing, connector selection, and documentation.</li><li>Support integration and interface development between electric motors and battery systems.</li><li>Generate detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.</li><li>Prototype, test, and iterate on electromechanical assemblies and sub-systems.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of experience in electromechanical design, ideally in aerospace, automotive, or similar high-reliability environments.</li><li>Strong proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.</li><li>Hands-on prototyping and testing experience, including working with electrical systems and mechanical components.</li><li>Familiarity with electrical harnessing standards and best practices.</li><li>Basic experience working with electric motors and batteries.</li><li>Strong understanding of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) and DFC (Design for Cost).</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in electric aircraft, or EV industry.</li><li>Experience with electric powertrain systems (high voltage).</li><li>Experience with PLM systems and engineering change processes.</li></ul>Company Perks<ul><li>$139,000-165,000 per year base salary + equity.
