Renaissance Fusion is the first Magnetic Confinement Fusion company in the EU. We are building the first net-energy producing stellarator by combining proprietary innovations in modular design, the manufacturing of next-generation High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) magnets, and liquid walls. We are forming a team of the brightest, most driven scientists and engineers to realize and commercialize our non-fusion HTS magnets within 2 years, and fusion magnets and integrated fusion solutions within 10 years.We are looking for a procurement engineer to work closely with our R&amp;D team in HTS film deposition, understand complex technical issues, translate them in technical specifications and new parts, and procure them. We are looking for a colleague with the interests of a generalist, attention to details and the big picture, a problem-solving mindset and yet a sense of urgency, and the ability to identify and focus on key priorities. CLARIFICATION on Procurement Engineer vs. Buyer and Technical Buyer: for this position we are looking for an engineer, someone sensitive to and capable in matters of supply-chain and procurement, but an engineer at hearth: someone who will work closely with our HTS engineers and will discuss with technical experts from potential suppliers. This person will initially belong to HTS Film Deposition, which is a technical department. It is not excluded that in the future a new group of Buyers and Procurement Engineers might be formed, which might report to the CFO. ResponsibilitiesInternal alignment before placing orders<ul><li>In collaboration with colleagues from R&amp;D in HTS Film Deposition, identify “purchase specifications”, i.e. the specifications of new parts and components to be purchased, including off-the-shelf and custom-made products and services.</li></ul><ul><li>Identify suppliers that meet or exceed our technical requirements. Work with the Buyer(s) to select and qualify the final suppliers, based on additional elements (lead time, cost, etc.). Pass the baton to the Buyer for price and lead-time negotiations, and for the actual purchase.</li></ul><ul><li>In collaboration with PMOs and other colleagues from other departments, identify synergies in terms of lump orders or shared resources.</li></ul>Monitoring and internal updates on orders placed<ul><li>Monitor the ordering, custom-manufacturing (if any), transportation, possible issues with customs and taxes, and quality check at final delivery.</li></ul><ul><li>Regularly update requesters about the status of their orders. Where appropriate, also update the Head, Deputy Head, PMOs of HTS, CFO, and Buyers. Proactively alert them on major delays and issues and propose solutions. </li></ul>External procurement<ul><li>Work with suppliers to define technical requirements guaranteeing that the procured product will meet quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements.</li></ul><ul><li>Continuously grow our database of potential HTS suppliers. Familiarize with their capabilities and offers. Consult third parties for references.</li></ul><ul><li>Check component/material quality issues upon delivery or as they arise. Be the point of contact with suppliers in case of non-compliance.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with RF’s supply-chain processes and policies and give feedback and suggestions to the buyer to support continuous improvement (workflow efficiencies).</li></ul> RequirementsFeel free to apply even if you only meet 70% of the requirements.
