This role is primarily business facing, working with other groups inside of EDF Renewables to design, and document solutions to meet business needs. Additionally, this role is responsible for working with subject matter experts to maintain design and plans for existing systems and environments and develop roadmaps for the future.  EDF Renewable Energy’s infrastructure is located throughout North America. These operations include wind and solar power generation plants and energy storage facilities owned and/or managed by EDF RE and all data center and cloud operations environments. Additional responsibilities include working collaboratively with other technology architects, corporate business users and other technical contributors. The Solutions Architect also leads the design and support of EDF systems compliance within our regulated NERC CIP environment.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2>Responsibilities: 25% - Advises and consults with IT and Executive Management teams regarding systems design, architecture, management, and configurations to develop technical solutions that meet the company’s business goals. 25% - Designs, plans, and documents infrastructure and enterprise application environments including both on-premises and cloud solutions in accordance with best practices. 20% - Partners with cyber security to design, plan, and implement security practices in designs. Ensures solutions, policies, and procedures are compliant with applicable government regulations, customer-specific/owner-specific requirements, and industry best practices. Researches and tests new technologies in support of business operations. 15% - Creates and maintains systems architectural diagrams. 5% - Functions as part of the infrastructure leadership team, provides technical direction and support for internal Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiatives as well as analyzes and mitigates security risks. 5% - Assists with budget planning and procurement of systems hardware and software as directed in a cost effective manner.  5% - Other duties as assigned. Supervision of Others: NA Working Conditions: 90% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 10% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors and internal sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.    Fiscal Responsibilities: Able to develop financial plans for projects up to $2M  <h2>Qualifications</h2>Qualifications (Degree/Certifications/License/Experience/Specialized Knowledge/Skills): Education/Experience:<ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years direct experience </li> <li>Minimum 10+ years proven work experience developing solutions in a multi-site corporate environment. Minimum 10+ years proven work experience designing, implementing, administrating, supporting, and maintaining systems. </li> <li>Minimum 2+ years proven work experience as a solution architect and/or infrastructure domain architect. </li></ul>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:  <ul> <li> Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and issues.</li> <li> Proven ability to work closely with business leaders to understand requirements and develop solutions. </li> <li> Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with peers and cross-functional team members from a variety of business functions </li> <li> Strong knowledge in server virtualization, authentication, storage and/or cloud.</li> <li> Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud Services. Strong plus to have working knowledge of Azure and/or GCP.</li> <li> Technical/operational level understanding of VMware and/or Nutanix AHV and virtualization requirements and monitoring. </li> <li> Thorough understanding of Active Directory and Azure AD.</li> <li> Demonstrated ability to be productive and produce quality results in a dynamic work environment.</li> <li> Experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.</li> <li> Knowledge of SCADA and/or other Operational Technology (OT) technologies is a plus.</li> <li> Knowledge of enterprise application such as SAP, ArcGIS, and AVEVA PI is a plus.</li> <li> Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li> Exceptional work ethic and commitment to customer service.</li></ul>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50lbs in order to install and manage hardware.
