Software Operations Manager

Zoox is looking for an Operations Manager to support our Embedded Software and Systems Integration organization. This role could be based in Foster City, CA or San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Understand and modify vendor engagements in association with the procurement team to meet demands for contingent work force from various Engineering teams
• Build and track projections for contingent work force expansion in association with Engineering managers and the Procurement team 
• Design, Develop and ensure conformance to various Key Performance Indicators(KPI) used to gauge effectiveness of service provided by vendors
• Work actively with the Data Sciences team to help carve out internal metrics towards improving productivity of engineering teams
• Create and deliver technical presentations that explain operational initiatives/on going efforts to Project Management team
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and Finance team in order to define and track resource requirements (headcount and budget)
• Management of timesheets and tactical accounting
• Periodic sync/visits to vendor engineering center to monitor, optimize and improve hiring, training and retention of contingent workforce
• Aid strategizing contingent workforce deployment

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in STEM
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting or operations management
• Familiarity with software, hardware development processes
• Track record of managing vendors and other outsourcing initiatives in KPI or T&M model
• Provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience
