Senior Accountant II 

Position Description Advanced Energy United seeks a smart, innovative, and highly motivated Senior Accountant II to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant II will work with the finance, fundraising, and policy/advocacy teams to streamline the financial process and reporting.&nbsp;They will also closely track our philanthropic revenue and assist with the end of month close processes.&nbsp;&nbsp;The ideal candidate for this role is a detail-oriented, proactive, problem-solver with a strong understanding of accounting principles. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, prior non-profit financial reporting and a collaborative approach to teamwork, with the ability to think both analytically and strategically.&nbsp;&nbsp; Responsibilities&nbsp; Philanthropic Revenue:&nbsp;<ul><li>Review new grant agreements for proper accounting treatment&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain relevant grant information in applicable software applications&nbsp;</li><li>Closely monitor grant spending, balances, and restrictions&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinate with fundraising team on status of grants and payment&nbsp;</li></ul> Serve as the finance team's point person for Vena financial planning and analysis software:<ul><li>Maintain existing templates and reports, including net asset release for United’s three entities&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Vena consultants to implement functionality previously identified&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Identify and implement additional use cases for Vena&nbsp;</li></ul> End of Month:<ul><li>Calculate and make allocation &amp; inter-entity journal entries</li><li>Track and reconcile investment accounts&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain lease schedule and journal entries&nbsp;</li><li>Calculate restricted and unrestricted net assets&nbsp;</li><li>Provide financial analysis and projections&nbsp;</li></ul> Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting&nbsp;and CPA is a plus</li><li>5-7 years of experience with at least 2 years in a senior accountant role&nbsp;</li><li>Public accounting experience at a large firm strongly preferred&nbsp;</li><li>Strong technical accounting skills&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with non-profit accounting (multiple entities preferred but not required)&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency with financial applications such as Vena and Intacct (Sage) highly desirable&nbsp;</li><li>Tech-savvy, a fast learner, and comfortable independently mastering new applications and tools&nbsp;</li><li>Highly resourceful, proactive, and a problem-solver&nbsp;</li><li>Can work independently with minimal supervision &nbsp;</li><li>Intellectual curiosity with a continuous improvement mindset&nbsp;</li><li>Long-term growth mindset</li><li>Ability to balance detail orientation with big-picture thinking&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial mindset and excels in fast-paced environments&nbsp;</li><li>Can effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects&nbsp;</li><li>Interest in the clean energy industry is desirable&nbsp;</li></ul> Physical Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
