We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.<h2>Overview</h2><p>As a Technical Writer, you will be part of a fast scaling Technical Publications team responsible for the quality, clarity, and accuracy of the documentation for the technologies related to an aircraft product. </p><p> </p><p>Please note that this is a technical writing position and not a UX writing position.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><p>You will execute multiple review processes for certification documents, assist SMEs in writing content, and provide ad hoc editorial and authoring tools expertise to writers across Joby. You will update, enhance, and reorganize existing documents. You will also assist in defining and improving documentation standards and processes.</p><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or equivalent discipline and 7+ yrs experience as demonstrated by a portfolio.</li> <li>Self-motivated and energetic</li> <li>Fast and curious learner who enjoys picking up new technology</li> <li>Experience gathering and analyzing information from diverse and busy SMEs</li> <li>Intense attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to work across silos and ask good questions to tease out detail and nuance</li> <li>Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Experience as a technical editor, or peer editing other writers’ documents</li> <li>Experience with diagraming tools such as draw.io, Visio, or LucidChart</li> <li>Previous work in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace or pharmaceutical</li> <li>Experience writing long-form technical documents</li> <li>Experience envisioning, defining, and codifying documentation processes</li> <li>Knowledge of the aerospace industry</li> <li>MS Word expertise</li> <li>Github and Python experience</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Please still apply if you don’t meet all items in the desired section! The target base pay for this position is $105,500 - $140,700/yr.
