PSC’s awards and programs are highly rated across the industry and include sustainable packaging, sustainable ingredient sourcing, and ESG.Role SummaryThe Director of Sales is a leadership team member. This position will play a critical role in growing PSC’s impact by expanding our member community. This individual will lead our new member acquisition efforts, identifying and nurturing prospective member organizations and converting them into long-term partners. They will also help our Member Experience team nurture and grow existing members through inside sales training and program development.This is a high level, entrepreneurial role requiring self-motivation, goal setting, proactive problem solving, sales skills, an understanding of the pet industry and sustainability, and a collaborative mindset to continuously improve our outreach and sales strategies.&nbsp;The Role<ul><li>Lead Generation, Prospecting, Membership Sales and Activation (85%)<ul><li>Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, meetings, closing, and follow-up</li><li>Develop and execute lead generation strategies to target key industry segments (brands, manufacturers, retailers, etc.)</li><li>Refine customer profiles and perform industry research to ensure high-quality leads</li><li>Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads using HubSpot, PSC’s website, social channels, email lists, tradeshows and other tools</li><li>Consistently hit or exceed new member targets (revenue and number of members)</li><li>Collaborate with Member Experience, Marketing and Sustainability &amp; Innovation teams to ensure our membership offerings, materials and messaging align with sales needs</li><li>Identify and cultivate opportunities for sponsorship or member benefit partnerships</li></ul></li><li>Data &amp; Reporting (5%)<ul><li>Analyze sales and operational data to assess lead quality, forecast sales, and identify new opportunities</li><li>Recommend improvements to sales strategy based on performance metrics and feedback</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM (HubSpot)</li></ul></li><li>Internal Collaboration &amp; Organizational Growth (10%)<ul><li>Work closely with the Member Experience team to ensure seamless onboarding and member satisfaction</li><li>Contribute insights on sales trends and customer objections to support strategic decision-making</li><li>Support CEO and Director of Member Experience with high-level member engagement and industry-wide initiatives&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul>Key Performance Indicators<ul><li>Revenue generated from new memberships</li><li>Number of new member organizations closed</li><li>Size and quality of the active sales pipeline</li><li>Number of qualified meetings held with prospective members</li></ul> Qualifications:Don’t meet every requirement? Studies show that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they do, so we encourage you to apply anyway.Required:<ul><li>5+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 2 years selling services or membership models to decision-makers in a corporate environment</li><li>Adept at the full sales lifecycle: lead generation, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing</li><li>Proven ability to meet or exceed $500K+ in annual sales targets</li><li>Demonstrated success closing deals with C-suite leaders in the pet, sustainability, food, or CPG industries</li><li>Strong communication skills to articulate and demonstrate the unique value proposition that PSC provides to the pet industry.</li><li>Passionate about sustainability and excited by the opportunity to influence change in the pet industry</li><li>Tech-savvy with experience using CRM platforms (preferably HubSpot)</li><li>Prior success managing a full sales cycle with deal sizes above $25,000</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience in a trade association, membership-based nonprofit, or sustainability-focused organization</li><li>Background or knowledge in the pet industry is a plus</li><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required—equivalent work experience is welcome</li><li>Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Asana, and Google Workspace</li></ul>How To ApplyApplicants should apply at petsustainability.org/careers.
