The ideal candidate for the Senior Industrial Engineer position is someone who has experience in creating meaningful insights from production data and implementing factory systems in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment. In this role, you will work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to understand and model (current-state and future-state) product line capability and capacity. You will also lead improvement projects related to factory production systems, and processes. You will have the opportunity to utilize lean thinking, simulation modeling, and decision-making that will optimize factory performance. <h2>Responsibilities: </h2><ul><li>Lead current and future Factory and manufacturing layout improvements and requirements for manufacturability. </li><li>Create value stream maps and identify improvement opportunities that reduce product cost and variation.</li><li>Manage cross-functional process improvement projects.</li><li>Lead and train the manufacturing team in lean waste reduction efforts.</li><li>Utilize statistical analysis to identify process improvements that reduce variation and defects.</li><li>Participate in design reviews focused on producibility and design for manufacturing and testing.</li><li>Build and maintain capacity and simulation models for various product types.</li><li>Lead in the improvement and evolution of the manufacturing execution system including the setup of manufacturing work center architecture and product flow.</li><li>Work in a fast-paced agile environment and adapt to evolving design and production challenges.</li><li>Provide inputs to manufacturing plans and operation strategy.</li><li>Interface with production technician, engineering team and leadership on a daily basis. </li></ul><h2>Basic Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other related engineering discipline.</li><li>5+ years of experience in industrial engineering role or production environment.</li><li>Deep understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and data analytics with SQL, Python, and Tableau.</li><li>Familiarity with capacity modeling, layout design, value stream mapping, and simulation modeling (Anylogic, AutoCAD, Draw.io, Visio).</li><li>Demonstrated project management, change management, and continuous improvement (6 sigma, 5S) experience.</li><li>Ability to use a pallet jack and lift boxes of up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed. </li></ul><h2>Preferred Skills and Experience:</h2><ul><li>Aerospace/Defense experience and/or military experience.</li><li>Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.</li><li>Proficient in documenting detailed assembly instructions with 3D models, pictures, diagrams and text.</li><li>Good written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization.</li><li>Understanding of how MRP works in product development and production environments.</li><li>Knowledge of Production Systems and Lean Manufacturing elements.</li><li>Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety elements.</li><li>Use of SolidWorks, 2D and 3D modeling software.</li><li>Experience with RF Products, Electromechanical assembly and test.</li><li>Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems elements. </li></ul> ITAR REQUIREMENTS: <ul><li>To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
