Job Overview The Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager – Electrolyte Product leads our Electrolyte Product team, responsible for the development, scale-up, and implementation of next-generation electrolyte systems for advanced lithium-ion batteries. This high-impact role bridges R&amp;D, electrochemistry, manufacturing, and productization. You’ll guide a multidisciplinary team to turn cutting-edge formulations into manufacturable, high-performance products that meet safety, cost, and performance specifications. You’ll drive the electrolyte product roadmap, executing across R&amp;D, cell design, supply chain, and production. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Li-ion electrolytes—including solvents, salts, additives, and interfaces—and hands-on experience taking formulations from lab to production. Strong technical leadership and customer engagement skills are essential. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Bring deep electrolyte formulation expertise to inform electrolyte optimization to meet customer demands.</li> <li>Drive execution of new electrolyte development projects, ensuring alignment across R&amp;D, manufacturing, and commercial teams from prototype through launch. </li> <li>Own and coordinate customer-specific testing programs, collaborating with both government and private sector clients to meet technical specifications and timelines. </li> </ul><ul><li>Oversee electrochemical testing of battery cells for internal validation of electrolyte products. </li></ul><ul><li>Lead shipping processes for electrolytes, including documentation, training, and packaging risk mitigation. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage electrolyte product quality assurance processes in conjunction with the manufacturing team, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and compliance prior to shipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team; support career growth and performance through regular 1:1s, feedback, and biannual reviews. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on ownership, technical rigor, and cross-functional success. </li></ul>RequirementsRequired Qualifications <ul><li>B.S. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field. </li></ul><ul> <li>Minimum 10 years of experience related to Li-ion electrolyte formulation with strong knowledge of relevant solvent/salt systems and functional additives.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience leading and growing technical teams in a fast-paced environment. </li> </ul><ul><li>Proven ability to interface with customers and present technical concepts to varied audiences. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving engineering, R&amp;D, and operations. </li></ul><ul> <li>Familiarity with battery cyclers, safety testing tools, and lab instrumentation. </li> <li>Familiarity with chemical characterization tools including ICP-MS, UV-Vis, GC-MS, and more</li> </ul><ul><li>Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, Trello). </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in both early-stage R&amp;D and product scale-up. </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of regulatory requirements for electrolyte shipment. </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with polymers, polymer electrolytes, or solid state electrolytes</li> <li>Data analysis experience for experimental validation using Python, JMP, and Excel. </li> </ul>Benefits<ul> <li>Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience.
