Job Overview

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the ASC program through client relationship management within a team environment. The program is accredited to provide certification to the Aquaculture Stewardship Council and will be accredited for Best Aquaculture Practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Account management responsibilities including manage existing ASC certificate-holders, communicating with clients and affiliates regarding the continuing certification process and relevant requirements
  • Ensure consistent flow of audit projects in order to meet timelines and financial goals
  • Build strong, positive long-term client and auditor relationships by understanding current and future business issues, markets, competition, and audiences
  • Interface with technical staff and auditors to ensure timely service delivery
  • Maintain documents, records, and progress tracking to maintain compliance with SCS quality management systems and/or the rules of the relevant certification scheme
  • Work effectively to ensure all issues are dealt with in a timely manner, recording customer issues and details in all appropriate places
  • Create new Annual Audit Projects to facilitate project management
  • Update and manage client and certificate information in SCS’ internal database and scheme’s database including execution of termination/suspension and changes to scope of certificates
  • Generate and email client certificates (mail hard copies only where necessary)
  • Undertake various tasks assigned by the program manager
  • Being able to determine which auditor can complete a project based on the auditor and client’s demographic
  • Support team members by completing requested tasks for a specific project
  • Create work orders, invoices, contracts, and proposals as needed
  • Create a client profile in our SCS database and our online database. Send instructions to the client on how to access this online portal
  • Undertake various tasks assigned by team members and be able to prioritize when needed
  • Creation of assessment announcements and preparation of specific sections in an assessment report
  • Generate and send emails to stakeholders
  • Communicate with the ASC to keep ASC database updated throughout audit projects

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field or 2-4 years’ work experience applicable to description above
  • Complete fluency in English and work experience that involves professional written communication
  • Complete fluency in Spanish and work experience that involves professional written communication
  • Ability to work well independently or in team-oriented situations 5 days per week at our Emeryville office or remote
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Exceptional customer service and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Superlative organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize numerous tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel and database management
  • ISO training certification or willingness to complete the ISO training offered by SCS
  • Experience with ISO standards, supply chains and/or the certified products industry preferred
  • Commitment to SCS values (environmental sustainability, sustainable seafood)

Physical Requirements

  • This is an office-based job. Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone. 

Work Environment

  • The Aquaculture team is fully remote; however, the Emeryville office is open if local

  • Aquaculture field and food facilities during audits, and auditor assessment activities
