If you are looking to play a part in making a positive impact in the world by advancing the revolutionary work of self-driving cars, join us.

About the Role

Cruise is looking for a Director of Sustainability, that will be responsible for creating a vision for a sustainable autonomous transportation system, while implementing this both internally and championing this vision externally. As we continue to build out the A100 and future hardware investments, we have critical opportunities to integrate new technologies and low-carbon solutions into the next generation of AVs. For example, there is a new Carbontech now available like carbon-negative carpeting. Batteries and tires are also critical hardware components for the lifecycle emissions of our vehicles. Integrating sustainability and actively ideating in this area as we commit to long-term hardware roadmaps is currently a gap.

As we evolve our business model, there are important sustainability implications that Cruise should be thoughtful of.  For example, pricing and fleet decisions for shared rides vs individual rides as well as the prevalence of fleet driving with no passengers have large emissions implications. In the delivery space, we may also want to consider how to incentivize larger orders vs purchase of a single item.

Longer Term Impacts:  You will be a thoughtful leader, capable of driving a vision and implementing systems for measurement, driving accountability throughout their organization, and continuous improvement in regards to sustainability throughout all programs.  Responsible for establishing long-term renewable power purchase agreements throughout the United States at advantageous rates for Cruise. Positioning our company as the Industry Leader in sustainable transportation.

If you have a passion for sustainability, let's chat!
