About the role:

Cruise is seeking to hire an experienced and motivated Oracle ERP Senior Systems Engineer that will operate as the Oracle Cloud Resource Planning (ERP) platform lead. The role is centralized within the Finance Technology (FinTech) team within the IT Enterprise Business Technology organization and will report directly to the Head of Finance Technology. The FinTech team owns Cruise’s internal financial infrastructure. We select, implement, and maintain the applications, platforms, and tools that enable the Finance organization to do their best work. We do this by building world class technical solutions that are prepared to scale, are developed on a common set of data, and are seamlessly integrated.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the product owner for the Oracle Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application exhibiting strong techno-functional skills in Oracle Financials modules of GL, AP, FA, Cash Management and are able to recommend best practices
  • Be a organizational spokesperson for Oracle ERP
  • Engage professional services firms and vet talent to support the ERP application
  • Drive functional requirements and design as well as the technical build and testing activities with key input from your finance business partners
  • Responsible for successful delivery of the ERP including proper organizational change management
  • Oracle ERP daily system management including but not limited to addition and deletion of users, modifying or adding to the Chart of Accounts, troubleshooting issues with Oracle Support, identifying efficiencies within the application, and monitoring internal tickets / requests for application support
  • Maintain the Oracle ERP backlog, inclusive of minor enhancement requests; communicate reasonable and attainable deadlines
  • Partner with your business partners to understand the technical enablers needed for new business initiatives
  • Input into other strategic projects assist with inbound / outbound integration of other applications with Oracle ERP
  • Deliver continuous transformation by identification and design of both system and process improvements
  • Have input into system control design, audit trail / evidence management, and integration across platforms
  • Provide input into the definition / requirements gathering, technical definitions, proof of concept, design, test, implement, and sustain phases of project work
  • Understand data structure, data interfaces and how data flows and transforms from source systems to the downstream systems
  • Provide on-going process and system support during critical business operational processes, inclusive of evening and weekend hours when required
  • Ensure systems are regulatory compliant and meets Cruise’s  security requirements
  • Document processes on Cruise’s internal wiki, create job-aids for users, and deliver training when needed



What you must have:

  • Passionate, thoughtful, team oriented skilled professional
  • 4+ years of experience with Oracle ERP or equivalent ERP systems and processes
  • Minimum of 2 years’ technical leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in role related field required
  • Experience implementing and managing enterprise business systems
  • Fundamental understanding of operational accounting and basic finance topics
  • Highly skilled at problem solving and critical thinking in a technical context
  • Highly skilled in systems-level and operational thinking
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills as you work with the business to set and maintain priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables, if / then statements, concatenation, nested functions and formulas.  Ability to create other logic formulas with ease.
  • Ability to manage high volume of requests from multiple customers in a timely, accurate and efficient manner and prioritize with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
