Inspection activities will include measuring optical quality and fundamental material properties, as well as data recording and entry.As the ideal candidate you have experience working in a hands-on setting and have an unwavering commitment to safety and data integrity. You thrive in an environments with shifting tasks and priorities as AeroShield grows, where the results of your work play an important role in advancing new technologies to market.The responsibilities of this position include:<ul><li>Run standard QA/QC, testing and validation on incoming, in-process and finished materials such as:<ul><li>Optical testing + imaging</li><li>Thermal conductivity</li><li>Thickness, weight, density</li><li>Mechanical testing</li></ul></li><li>Accurately collect, organize, and document results using AeroShield standard documentation platforms and practices</li><li>Collaborate with other members of the technical team to support continuous improvement initiatives, including identification of recurring defects and root cause analysis</li><li>Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of testing instrumentation, including preventative maintenance and calibration verification.</li><li>Train new employees on inspection, testing, and documentation practices</li></ul>This role requires candidates to be on-site 5 days a week at our facility in Waltham, MA.QualificationsMany great team members do not fit a “standard blueprint”. Scientists from MIT have developed breakthrough advances in nanoporous glass, the same material used to insulate spacecraft, to enable a new performance class of windows that offer affordability and efficiency.
New super-insulating material developed by AeroShield is designed to drop inside existing double-pane window manufacturing to create a window 50% more insulating &ndash; reducing energy use and improving comfort.
