This team is at the centre of delivering innovative and effective processes as we grow into large-scale renewable energy company. The Financial Accountant role is part of the dynamic LCFS team delivering specialist Finance services in a timely and accurate manner. The team of qualified accountants work to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards. This position is focused on assisting with closing and reporting and adherence to statutory requirements, ensuring and robust and compliant controls environment.This role is a 6 month maternity cover.Key Responsibilities<ul> <li>Preparation of monthly management reporting packs for a portfolio of companies</li> <li>Preparation of statutory financial statements and liaising with auditors</li> <li>Assist with updating, improving and implementing procedures for the finance team</li> <li>Liaising with external partners, including auditors and providers of debt finance</li> <li>Support with controls compliance and other internal controls requirements</li> <li>VAT reporting</li> <li>Maintain close relationships with customers (within Low Carbon and Third Party Asset Management) to ensure responsiveness to their needs, track service delivery and performance, and support escalation and resolution of any performance issues</li> <li>Assist with the onboarding and management of new assets</li> <li>Preparing commentary on variances (budget vs. actual vs forecast)</li> <li>Apply technical accounting and regulatory knowledge to the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements</li> <li>Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues across LCFS, the wider Low Carbon team and external customers, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business</li> </ul>Skills &amp; Experience<ul> <li>Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)</li> <li>Extensive experience in reviewing and analysing management accounts</li> <li>Proven track record of identifying financial trends and providing actionable insights</li> <li>Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and practices</li> <li>Excellent Excel skills</li> <li>Experience of management accounting and reporting within a demanding, high growth business</li> <li>Experience working with an SPV structure within Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or similar industry(desirable)</li> <li>Experience working within finance operations or Record to Report (R2R), and / or experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda</li> </ul>Our Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul> <li>26 days holiday plus your birthday off (pro rata)</li> <li>Private Healthcare for you and your family (medical history disregarded)</li> <li>Contributory Pension</li> <li>Pluxee for commercial discounts and perks</li> <li>3 additional days for volunteering to support causes of your choice (pro rata)</li> <li>£50 credit per month towards short notice childcare, eldercare and pet care via ‘Bubble’</li> </ul>
