We believe in developing practical approaches to solving the climate crisis.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:14pt;">The Role</span></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Travertine seeks a highly motivated Safety Specialist with extensive experience in industrial hygiene and chemical safety. This role will support our ongoing initiative to cultivate a robust safety culture within a dynamic startup environment. We are seeking a professional with deep expertise in chemical and manufacturing safety best practices and prior hands-on experience in these industries. This individual will contribute to the safety team's efforts in developing and enhancing a program that upholds safety standards in a rapidly evolving and expanding company. </span></div><br><br><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Support and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable safety regulations.</li><li>Conduct routine safety audits, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses (JSAs).</li><li>Review internal risk assessments and standard operating procedures of new/modified processes to ensure operations are conducted with best chemical and industrial hygiene practices.</li><li>Lead or support incident investigations, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and track corrective actions to closure.</li><li>Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and emergency response plans with Safety Coordinator and Lab Director.</li><li>Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate safety into daily workflows.</li><li>Monitor and report on leading and lagging safety indicators, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Provide on-site support at both Colorado and New York locations. </li><li>Support Safety Coordinator with shipping and receiving of hazardous materials.</li><li>Other duties as assigned to support the Safety Team.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of experience in safety, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-hazard (PSM) industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in chemical or industrial gas sectors.</li><li>OSHA 10 &amp; 30 certifications in General Industry.</li><li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Hazardous Materials Management Professional (HMMP),Chemical Hygiene Officer (CCHO) or equivalent credential.</li><li>Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, especially in high-hazard environments.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.</li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally and manage several projects  in a fast-paced and agile environment.</li></ul><h3>Desired Skills and Competencies</h3><ul><li>Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, especially in high-hazard environments.</li><li>Familiarity with OSHA process safety management (29 CFR <a href="http://1910.119">1910.119</a>).</li><li>Familiarity with OSHA Chemical Hygiene requirements (29 CFR <a href="http://1910.1450">1910.1450</a>).</li><li>Familiarity with OSHA Laboratory Safety requirements (29 CFR <a href="http://1910.1450">1910.1450</a>).</li><li>Familiarity with DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation (49 CFR 100-185 and HM-181 training).  </li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive pay </li><li>Stock options</li><li>Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance</li><li>401k with 100% match up to 3% of salary</li><li>Flexible time off policy</li></ul><br>
