The successful candidate must be a hands-on, experienced engineering leader who applies their education and professional background in power electronics theory and methods to deliver a range of grid-connected hardware and system solutions for AC and DC power converter platforms. The individual must be a highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong ethics, experienced in delivering industrial product quality and performance with proven project leadership and team leadership experience.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Lead the Power Electronics Engineering team in the design and development of advanced power conversion systems, ensuring alignment with product requirements and business goals.</li> <li>Drive system and subsystem trade-off analyses to inform strategic hardware/software build vs. buy decisions.</li> <li>Oversee the creation of System and Subsystem Specifications and ensure traceability to high-level product requirements.</li> <li>Guide the development of Engineering and Design Requirements that support scalable, reliable, and high-performance power electronics solutions.</li> <li>Provide technical leadership in power conversion topologies including buck/boost, multi-phase/interleaved, DAB, LLC, and H-bridge architectures.</li> <li>Direct the selection and integration of high-power switching technologies such as Silicon FETs, GaN FETs, and SiC FETs.</li> <li>Supervise mixed-signal PCBA design efforts, ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective EMC mitigation in high-noise environments.</li> <li>Champion thermal management strategies for high-power components and subsystems to ensure performance and reliability.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical and embedded software engineering teams using industrial-grade development processes.</li> <li>Lead validation efforts through unit, subsystem, and system-level testing, supporting early design simulation and iterative improvement.</li> <li>Manage contract manufacturer relationships for prototype builds and testing, ensuring quality and timely delivery.</li> <li>Oversee supply chain activities including vendor selection, contract/SOW development, and cost/schedule management.</li> <li>Promote Design for Manufacture and Test (DFM/DFT), quality assurance, and reliability engineering throughout the product lifecycle.</li> <li>Facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from engineering to manufacturing.</li> <li>Support the development of environmentally hardened, industrial-grade products for demanding applications.</li> <li>Maintain high standards in documentation, communication, and organizational practices across engineering functions.</li> <li>Foster a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement, mentoring team members and driving technical excellence.</li> <li>Demonstrate a proven track record in full product lifecycle management—from concept through end-of-life.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a strong Power Electronics background</li> <li>15+ years of experience in system architecture and design for high-power, high-voltage product development, specializing in grid-connected and DC microgrid power electronics; skilled in integrating digital, analog, DSP, and software-based technologies to deliver robust and efficient solutions. </li> <li>5+ years successful team and project leadership experience</li> <li>Experience working cross-functionally across multiple locations.</li> <li>Thrives in a small business hands-on environment with a highly motivated Team atmosphere.</li></ul> The ERMCO-GridBridge team operates in an open, non-hierarchical, collaborative, and flexible environment to achieve the most effective use of all team members’ contributions.  Join ERMCO and TRANSFORM your career.
