Directs and controls multiple fabrication projects.SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:Updates project list with Manager, Production Services, and coordinates schedule of individual projects<ul> <li>Participate in designing new and modifying existing equipment and machinery.</li> <li>Produces prints and drawings as required.</li> <li>Ensures all phases fabrication are being performed effectively.</li> <li>Identifies and solves any problems with equipment or personnel.</li> <li>Build new machinery, equipment, and fixtures, and rebuild and refurbish equipment as needed.</li> <li>Paint new and refurbished equipment</li> <li>Operate fabrication equipment, machines, and tools.</li> <li>Maintains open communication with maintenance and warehouse to ensure project schedules are met.</li> <li>Ensures consistent and maximum throughput while maintaining quality.</li> <li>Ensures that product loss and scrap are kept to a minimum</li> <li>Maintains raw material and supply inventories and notifies purchasing when items need to be ordered.</li> <li>Trains new hires as well as long-term employees on fabrication team</li> <li>Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.</li> <li>Always keeps plant fabrication/tool area in ‘tour-ready’ condition.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE OF:<ul> <li>Fabrication systems, processes, and equipment</li> <li>Welding processes and equipment</li> <li>Mechanical systems and machine design</li> <li>Must be able to read and interpret documents such as: drawings, prints, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</li></ul>SKILL IN:<ul> <li>Fusion 360 or Inventor, and other electronic drawing software</li> <li>Welding: MIG and TIG</li> <li>Plasma Cutting</li> <li>Lathe and Mill Setup / Operation</li> <li>Ironworker, Shears, Punch and Dies</li> <li>Fabrication Tools and processes </li> <li>Use of measuring devices such as: caliper and micrometer.</li> <li>Operating a forklift.</li></ul>  ABILITY TO:<ul> <li>Understand technical concepts: Mechanical movement, Forces, and Design</li> <li>Work with fellow employees.</li> <li>Oversee workflow.</li> <li>Self-Start and maintain project timelines.</li> <li>Effectively communicate with others</li> <li>Problem solves and attention to detail.</li></ul> EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE <ul> <li>High School Diploma or G.E.D.</li> <li>3+ years of MIG welding experience</li> <li>3+ years’ experience in machine fabrication and design operations; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. </li></ul> *The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
