The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) runs a heterogeneous software with a variety of tasks, each with different requirements of hardware/compute resources. These AV tasks run on a custom made heterogeneous hardware platform, with its inherent constraints and limitations. In order to maintain stability of the software stack while allowing continuous innovation and improvement to its tasks and features, it is important to have reliable and efficient performance testing solutions at scale.
Cruise is looking for a software engineer to help productionize our core AV performance testing platforms at scale. As part of the Performance Testing team, you will be collaborating closely with different AV Engineering teams (e.g. Perception, Prediction, Planning, Localization, SW Platform) to scope, design, develop and maintain AV performance testing infrastructure; improving its fidelity, performance reliability, and coverage. The performance testing platform evolves simultaneously with the AV compute platform counterpart; thus the need for continuous design and development of a new generation that is optimized for reliability and scalability.
