Primary Duties:Directs, checks, and records work of group in accordance with specifications and daily schedules.Normal Sequence:<ul><li>Working member of wet forming processing crew.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining quality standards as outlined by specifications and quality manual.</li><li>Has knowledge of product and specifications and may work on any and all operations and can perform any operation in the group.</li><li>Has demonstrated leadership ability and is responsible for training or assisting in training new operators.</li><li>Recommends to supervision changes or reassignments of personnel to obtain best operating efficiency and is responsible for disposition of workers in the group.</li><li>Takes necessary steps to correct minor difficulties with equipment.</li><li>Reports major problems of quality and/or equipment to supervisor.</li><li>Verifies formation tables are open, clean, and ready for batteries.</li><li>Puts open tables into LOAD and while the table is loading un-cables tables that are ready to go out.</li><li>After table is un-cabled inputs into FIFO.</li><li>Cables batteries that have been loaded into strings of 20, minimum 15.</li><li>Secures top post when cabling by applying a slight downward pressure and twist.</li><li>Checks for bad cables and disposes of defective cables in proper cans/barrels and notifies the PM operator of bad leads.</li><li>Visually identifies the positive and negative leads for damage before placement on batteries.</li><li>Does a walk-through of AGM tables and looks for any batteries with acid leaks on top.</li><li>Removes bottles at the side of the acid leak and places in appropriate storage bin.</li><li>Replaces older bottles that do not make an effective seal allowing the acid to escape and leak onto the battery, at the first sign of failure.</li><li>Places positive and negative leads on proper post in numbered order.</li><li>Puts temperature probes in cells 3 or 4 of one battery per circuit for SLI batteries.</li></ul><ul><li>For AGM, puts one temperature probe on any of the first three circuits and one on any of the last three circuits.</li><li>Puts red flag in the up position to notify Process Attendant the table is ready to program and ready to load.</li><li>Ensures power is off and removes cables from tables that have been released by the process attendant.</li><li>Removes TOP POST cables by grabbing the cable by the ball and rocking it back and forth while lifting up.</li><li>Ensures the first battery of every P/N change has a reflector when exiting formation.</li><li>Re-starts the line after a “Quality Hold” stoppage.</li><li>Initiates water fill within 120 minutes of the first circuit time for AGM batteries.</li><li>Prepares accurate group sheets and daily production and time reports using correct rates and production counts.</li></ul>Follows assigned schedule.
