The Product Configuration Engineer will work with innovative thermal technologies and sustainable solutions.  We offer a full benefits package to include Flexible Time Off (FTO) for salaried positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and additional miscellaneous benefits.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   <ul><li>Wants to create engineering tools and systems to enable efficiency in the design and manufacturing of heat exchangers.</li><li>Willing to learn from and teach colleagues about advanced topics.</li><li>Improve &amp; modernize legacy applications for integration with future systems being developed. </li><li>Team player who excels working in-person and connecting with remote partners.</li><li>Develop and maintain product configuration software tools and databases.</li><li>Migrate legacy software platforms to modern IT environments.</li><li>Analyze and extract data from older systems to support upgrades.</li><li>Understand and apply product design and selection rulesets for various features and options.</li><li>Dynamic individual able to quickly learn products to modernize legacy systems and align with state-of-the-art platforms.</li><li>Write and adapt code in a fast-paced, agile development environment.</li><li>Has excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage goals and support OTD and quality of engineering output to ensure deliverables meet all specification and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Willing to present at technical reviews or submit papers based on work.</li><li>Support complex product design challenges and deliver effective solutions.</li><li>Has strong customer focus.</li><li>Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based upon organizational needs.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Requires a B.S. degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Computer Science or related field.</li><li>Experience developing software solutions at a professional level.</li><li>Experience working collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of and experience working with product configuration logic and engineering principles.</li><li>Experience with software development, database management, and system integration.</li><li>Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, and fluid mechanics.</li><li>Competence with CAD tools, thermal simulation software, and CRM systems.</li><li>Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and performance data.</li><li>Perform on an expert level with computer science topics such as data structures and algorithms.</li><li>U.S. Citizenship Required.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, MS Visio.</li></ul>DAY IN THE LIFE:In this role, the working environment is typical office and manufacturing floor environment.  In addition, this role may travel approximately 10%.Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
