Capital Power is looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements.This is more than just a reporting role, it’s an opportunity to contribute to a company that’s driving the future of sustainable energy.You will contribute to our team by: <ul><li>Preparing and reviewing certain notes to the quarterly and annual financial statements.</li><li>Monitoring IFRS changes including new standards, amendments, and IFRS Interpretation Committee (IFRIC) minutes and preparing a quarterly memo summarizing any changes during the quarter.</li><li>Preparing technical accounting research and position papers as a result of new transactions or changes to IFRS requirements, and collaborating with other groups across the company, as well as liaising with external and internal audit staff.</li><li>Performing certain other duties to cover a maternity leave such as preparing quarterly covenant calculations, the quarterly cash flow statement and quarterly Adjusted Funds Flow from Operations (AFFO) metric.</li><li>Performing various other SOX controls, as required.</li></ul>What you will bring to the role:    <ul><li>Past experience working as part of a Financial Reporting team.</li><li>Experience working for a publicly listed company is an asset,</li><li>Experience with IFRS technical research.
