Job Description

We're Cruise, a self-driving service designed for the cities we love.

We’re building the world’s most advanced, self-driving vehicles to safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about. We believe self-driving vehicles will help save lives, reshape cities, give back time in transit, and restore freedom of movement for many.

Cruisers have the opportunity to grow and develop while learning from leaders at the forefront of their fields. With a culture of internal mobility, there's an opportunity to thrive in a variety of disciplines. This is a place for dreamers and doers to succeed.

If you are looking to play a part in making a positive impact in the world by advancing the revolutionary work of self-driving cars, join us.

At Cruise, the Vehicle Engineering team works in a fast paced environment to develop and deliver new variants based on the Origin base vehicle. In this role you will support the new product team, and prototype team by undertaking virtual design and validation activities as these concepts are being developed.

The Vehicle's Team leads and supports Hardware development of Origin variants for Mobility and Delivery. Our projects are key to enabling Cruise’s commercial success and our impact is felt across the organization.

As a Senior Virtual Integration Engineer, you will function as an individual contributor and will be technically responsible for delivering a diverse set of exciting and challenging projects. You will be tasked with performing various durability projects and activities including both testing and CAE throughout the whole phase of variant development, i.e., target setting, benchmarking, concept designing, prototype development and optimization, vehicle testing, refinement and validation, advanced manufacturing and light weighting.

  • Implement development of new engineering analysis capabilities. Participate in Product Development teams on Component / Subsystem / System level designs, providing analysis to assess performance.
  • Apply methods for problem root cause analysis and identification. Build Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models from CAD solid models.
  • Responsible for capturing information from different sources at Cruise. Build and run analytical models, interpreting results for customers, attending development team meetings, interacting with Full vehicle integration teams.
  • Work interactively with different engineering departments across the company to improve durability performance and ensure vehicle durability attributes are achieved at minimum cost, weight, and complexity. Provide geometry, material and manufacturing process driven trade-offs so product teams can make optimal decisions for the program.
  • Collaboratively work with test engineers, and Multi Body Dynamic Loads Prediction engineers, to create specifications for data acquisition and virtual load's prediction. Test and analytical data must be suitable for use as load input for CAE based Fatigue and Strength analysis
  • Virtual additive manufacturing, Optimization and validation
  • Demonstrate ability to provide analytical solutions with integrity, and quality through testing
  • Single point of contact at Cruise for all Durability Analysis requirements of the Hardware team
  • Partner with the Sensor integration team to perform packaging assessment with vehicle attributes. Also work closely with the prototype team and the product team
