Working closely with cross-functional teams of designers and engineers, you will develop innovative AV hardware solutions that meet high standards of performance, safety, and scalability.</div><br><br><h3>In this role, you will: </h3><ul><li>Design and build complex mechanical prototypes and assemblies in CATIA, ensuring high performance and manufacturability.</li><li>Accurately model surfaces, geometries, and assemblies for rapid prototyping and evaluation.</li><li>Create detailed drawings, documentation, and BOMs to support fabrication, assembly, and testing.</li><li>Develop tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds to enable efficient prototyping of components and composites.</li><li>Collaborate across design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive innovative AV hardware solutions.</li><li>Research and apply emerging materials and manufacturing techniques to accelerate development and decision-making.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics, Mechatronics, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of experience in mechanical design or prototyping; automotive experience preferred.</li><li>Expertise in 3D CAD design for solids and surfaces; CATIA V5/V6 preferred.</li><li>Proven ability to lead complex prototyping projects across multiple functions.</li></ul><h3>Bonus Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Hands-on prototyping experience with machining, welding, composites, or additive manufacturing.</li><li>Experience managing suppliers to support prototyping efforts.</li><li>Familiarity with documentation and project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence.</li></ul><br><div><b>About Zoox</b></div><div>Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.
