Cruise is looking for a Staff Radar Engineer to help our Radar teams in the Electromagnetic modeling and simulation of automotive radar systems. If you're interested in designing the next generation of Radar for autonomous hardware, let's chat!

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing high-performance code that can operate in real-time simulation environments which embed the radar in 3D scenes.
• Writing prototype and/or production code for simulating automotive radars.
• Designing, analyzing, simulating, and verifying simulation against theory and reality.
• Design and optimizing the software architecture for the radar simulation tool chain across and jointly with teams from perception and hardware

What you must have:

• PHD degree in physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or electrical engineering with a particular focus on radar signal processing and/or numerical electromagnetic modeling.
• Strong background in numerical EM modeling and its implementation.
• Good understanding of radar theory, radar signal processing, and common automotive radar concepts.
• Strong software development skills with a good understanding of best coding practices.
• Expert in C++, Python, and proficient in Matlab programming.
• Experienced in the usage of Linux as a development platform.

Bonus points!

• Prior experience in radar simulation, measurement, and validation.
• Strong understanding of high-frequency asymptotic solution methods including PO, GO, GTD, and SBR.
• 1+ year of PO or SBR software development experience.
• Prior experience in GPU and/or multithreaded programming.
• Prior experience with git or other version control systems.
