Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Specialist coordinates, organizes, and handle all activities involved in the Supply Chain department, that includes material and service sourcing and purchasing, vendor management, domestic and international logistics, import and export process.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

  2. Develops/update policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.

  3. Manage and coordinate both domestic and international logistics:
  • Assess and recommend optimal shipping methods, carriers, routing, equipment and frequency to meet required transportation parameters, delivery specifications and costs. Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes at the most efficient way in terms of timing and cost.
  • Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
  • Prepare shipping documents/requirements, track deliveries and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Review logistics invoices and process payment.
  • Monitor import and export processes to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies in the company.

  1. Purchase components/equipment/service for engineering team:
  • Prepare RFP, secure quotes, negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
  • Negotiates prices for materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Assist sister companies to communicate/coordinate with global suppliers, purchase and logistics upon demand.

 

  1. Others:
  • Maintain vendors in SAP system.
  • Manage the temporary imported prototype vehicles, renew DOT/EPQ exemptions, follow proper process and regulations to stock, operate and/or dispose.
  • Other work you are asked for.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience in Supply Chain, Purchase, or import/export logistics.
  • Organizational focus and strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, willingness to learn, and works well within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, research, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and effectively prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with customs documents for shipping internationally.
  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, SAP experience is preferable.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
