AMP Robotics is hiring a Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager to focus on support of our remote facilities as well as designing, prototyping, installing, and testing autonomous recycling products.

Travel Requirements: 

  • Up to 25% travel

As our Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Work in a team of 4 engineers on fast-moving, rapidly evolving R&D autonomous recycling products
  • Test, validate, and iterate designs to meet strict performance requirements
  • Regularly collaborate with software and electrical engineers to achieve desired results
  • Rapidly prototype proof-of-concept designs
  • Travel to AMP’s recycling facilities to install and troubleshoot equipment

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of technical experience and work experience
  • 3 - 5 years of industry experience
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Flexibility to travel frequently within the US, sometimes with limited notice
  • The ability to design products and build teams for scaling while taking ownership of your duties
  • Strong hands-on skills for building, installing and testing custom-designed equipment
  • Proficiency with common field tools
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • The ability to learn complicated concepts quickly

Preferred: 

  • Basic Electronics knowledge
  • Leadership skills
  • DFMA experience
  • Vendor/supplier interaction
  • Exposure to research and design
  • Experience working with large industrial equipment
  • MRF (Material Recovery Facility) experience

Education:

  • BSME Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 

  • 3 - 5 years of experience

Salary & compensation information: $105,000 - 129,000 based on experience. 

Benefits information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents. 
  • 401(k) retirement plan (non-matching).
  • Seven (7) paid holidays – 7 company designated and 2 floating holidays. (salaried employees only)
  • Referral bonuses for staff positions.
