The RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Research Analyst to provide in-depth analysis of the cost structure of lithium and other battery raw materials mining. More specifically, the role involves gathering and interpreting granular data on the characteristics and costs associated with mining, processing and refining assets, benchmarking assets, and supporting strategic decision-making through comprehensive cost and market analysis.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIESTo support forecasts of battery raw materials:<ul><li>Collect, maintain, and produce data on raw materials mining costs and production economics across various asset types.</li><li>Perform thorough desk-based research and analysis on mining, processing and refining assets globally.</li><li>Assist in developing and maintaining databases and models for cost curves and market analysis.</li><li>Deconstruct aggregate capacity projections by production facility, company, country and region.</li><li>Update databases and forecast models as needed based on inputs</li></ul>To provide support for external and internal users of Fastmarkets’ supply, demand, capacity, production and cost forecasts:<ul><li>Assist the forecast and analytics team with content for subscription and consulting projects.</li><li>Support the product team’s development of forecast products.</li><li>Data contributions for presentations at industry events and forums.</li><li>Contribute to consulting project work as required.</li></ul>
