The Global Trade Compliance Administrator will serve as the lead expert on international trade. You will be responsible for efficiently structuring import and export transactions while ensuring compliance with US and foreign trade laws and regulations. You are a solution-oriented, natural collaborator and a self-starter. This role reports to our Director of Global Logistics.

Why You’re Rad (about you):

  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, working directly with imports and exports
  • Experience overseeing global customs brokerage, and trade compliance strategy and policy
  • Support strategic globalization initiatives by creating market-specific compliance programs, manuals, standard operating procedures, and training
  • Trade and customs expertise to support domestic and international business, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Logistics, along with other internal clients
  • Manage import and export flows with the Global Logistics team and cross-functionally with other departments on trade compliance matters
  • Implement relevant Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Commodity Classification Number (ECCN) classifications to a global product database
  • Monitor and revise trade compliance policies and practices according to changing regulations and business needs
  • Conduct internal import/export compliance audits
  • Lead and develop duty drawback program for the US and Canada
  • Track duty rate and establish ACE for consolidated payment opportunities
  • Ability to effectively present insights on business performance, and project status and changes to various audiences throughout the organization

Additional Requirements:

  •     B.A./B.S. in Business, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent professional experience in power sports/automated products
  •     US Customs Broker License or US Customs Specialist Certification strongly preferred
  •     Experience with foreign trade compliance regulations including but not limited to Canadian Border Services Agency, General Administration of the Customs People’s Republic of China, EU Taxation and Customs Union
  •     In-depth knowledge and experience with Customs Regulations and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  •     Knowledge on the set up and administration of FTZs in the US
  •     Experience with implementing and executing duty drawbacks
  •     Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  •     High proficiency in Mandarin and English
  •    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Dropbox and Google applications, as well as, order processing systems and project management software

Had you been with us last month, you would have:

  •      Delivered a broad selection of new qualified suppliers and samples for Product Team review
  •      Built and led a global cross functional sourcing team in Asia
  •      Provided best practice guidance regarding sourcing requests from the business, and balancing workload among team members
  •      Delivered on sourcing initiatives to drive improved performance across price, quality, and corporate social responsibility
  •      Reduced costs through effective negotiations and sourcing strategies
  •      Developed new effective business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers
  •      Identified and implemented new processes or systems to enhance supplier sourcing and vetting to improve product quality and lower costs

You get bonus points for:

  •      Experience within the consumer mobility industry, at a retail company or manufacturer
  •      Experience with ebikes or electric vehicles
  •      Specific experience sourcing products for a US or EU direct to consumer brand
