You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to take premier suspension tunables from concept to production.</p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Role</span></p><p>· Design and develop components, such as springs, stabilizer bars, top mounts and dampers, from initial concept to production</p><p>· Establish component requirements and specifications based on desired vehicle attributes and durability targets</p><p>· Complete component DFMEAs and DVPs, and contribute to system failure mode analyses</p><p>· Assist the vehicle dynamics team with tuning parts to achieve desired vehicle attributes</p><p>· Lead technical design reviews for System/Subsystem/Component</p><p>· Coach, Mentor, &amp; Train Suspension D&amp;R engineers</p><p>· Signoff of System/Subsystem/Component based after DV and PV completion</p><p>· Conduct global supplier onsite reviews at component plants and recommend best practices for manufacturing process and quality control</p><p>· Provide technical support to the Architecture teams</p><p>· Conduct benchmarking to optimize component design for future programs.</p><p>· Leverage CAE modelling capability to optimize quality, maximize efficiency and minimize cost</p><p>· Contribute to the suspension technology roadmap for future vehicles</p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Qualifications</span></p><p>· 8+ years of automotive industry experience at OEM or supplier, mostly focused on suspension or chassis mechanical design</p><p>· Experience designing components from concept to production</p><p>· Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly</p><p>· Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection</p><p>· Proven 3D CAD and CAE skills, project leadership, and mentoring skills</p><p>· Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience</p><p>· Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% if needed</p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Preferred</span></p><p>· 10+ years of automotive industry experience</p><p>· Experience working at Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive suppliers &amp; Automotive OEMs</p><p>· Experience working closely with Vehicle Dynamics &amp; Durability teams to balance attributes.</p><p>· Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6</p><p>· Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principles</p><p>· Ability to run and teach others to use structural analysis tools</p><p>· Experience developing tools and processes to aid virtual prototyping of components and shorten lead time.</p><p>· Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory</p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Education:</span></p><ul><li>BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering</li></ul><div><div><p>By Submitting your application, you understand and agree that your personal data will be processed in accordance with our <a href="https://www.lucidmotors.com/s3fs-public/pdf/candidate-privacy-notice.pdf">Candidate Privacy Notice</a>.
