Our Vice President, Technology will oversee the teams of technologists responsible for the software systems that power our ecommerce business, allow our customers to interact with us seamlessly, and support a wide range of internal, mission-critical business teams. In this role, you will partner with leaders across the company to understand their highest priority systems needs and lead your teams to the flawless delivery of key projects. You’re a seasoned technologist and a business leader who will ensure Rad’s software systems scale ahead of the rapid growth of the company.
This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada and will be a key member of Rad’s Leadership Team.



Why You’re Rad (about you):

  • A proven track record of leading the delivery of business systems in direct to consumer and/or retail companies across a range of business functions, ideally including supply chain & logistics, ecommerce, and customer service
  • A seasoned technologist that can assess the pros and cons of multiple architectures and lead technical and non-technical stakeholders to decisions; possesses a keen understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of build vs. buy decisions
  • An excellent communicator that can meaningfully participate in discussions of business problems with cross functional partners and is able to communicate effectively with senior management verbally and in writing
  • An experienced vendor manager that can implement, integrate, and manage third party systems while building productive, long-term relationships with external partners
  • A servant leader that knows when to provide close oversight to ensure delivery and when to give teams space to learn; creates a team culture that values accountability, high standards, empowerment, and continuous learning and development

Additional Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field strongly preferred
  • 20+ years of progressive experience working on enterprise software systems with significant knowledge of best in class software vendors 
  • 10+ years leading teams working on  high performance, high availability, enterprise systems that require extensive collaboration across technical and business teams
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing multiple functions and managing technical leaders
  • Deep knowledge and experience with IT hardware, networks, software back-end, database, APIs, and modern web front-end frameworks; expertise in application and platform components based on an SOA architecture
  • Proven success working in a rapidly growing company and building systems that can operate at scale

Had you been with us last month, the top 5 things you would have impacted are:

  • Overseen the multiphase implementation of enhancements to our core ERP including standing up new fulfilment locations with our 3PLs
  • Led the 3 Year strategic planning process for the information technology teams, build out our software systems roadmap
  • Hired outstanding frontend, BI and backend engineers, onboarding them quickly into the team so that they began to deliver immediate value to Rad. 
  • Established our Headless roadmap in close collaboration with the business and engineering teams and kicked off the Headless project for Rad
  • Overseen the software implementation for Rad’s native iOS and Android applications, in close partnership with the Connected Bikes team.
