What we’re looking for:

We need a strategic, results-driven communications lead to join our marketing team. This role will be responsible for developing & executing PR programs that establish Arcadia as a trusted consumer brand and a leader in the renewable energy and tech industries.

To accelerate Arcadia’s ability to deliver on its mission, you will be responsible for driving brand and product credibility via earned media channels. You’ll accomplish this by leading the full PR function, including finding unique opportunities and managing relationships with the media both small and large. You’re right for this role if you have repeatedly demonstrated success in building strategic communications programs from scratch and have existing media relationships in the technology, business and clean energy sectors.

The right person for this role will be excited by the opportunity to earn Arcadia’s position as a thought leader, clean energy pioneer, and trusted household brand and will work closely with Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, functional owners and company leadership . 

Arcadia is headquartered in Washington, DC, and open to fully remote candidates.

 What you'll do:

  • Lead Arcadia’s Brand Communications efforts and help scale the Arcadia Comms team 
  • Develop media relations strategies and design streamlined processes to create earned media campaigns to share stories and earn Tier-1 media coverage at the intersection of technology, business and clean energy
  • Elevate Arcadia’s brand awareness and position Arcadia as a trusted, authoritative technology company that’s solving a data, energy and climate problem
  • Build and manage a thought leadership strategy, content and industry calendar and creation process  in partnership with our in-house creative team
  • Develop a communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
  • Maintain a keen understanding of technology x climate trends and launch rapid response statements to capture mindshare during industry and cultural moments
  • Manage PR and Communications agency partners to execute PR strategies and processes
  • Collaborate across marketing teams to create an editorial calendar and design content for  earned and owned media (MEDIUM, LinkedIn, Twitter) channels
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within tech, business and renewable energy media and industry thought leaders
  • Design an industry awards and conference speaking calendar, process and tool kit

 

What will help you succeed:

Must-haves:

  • Passion for our mission, sustainability, & helping drive a clean-energy future
  • 8-10+ years of experience creating and managing PR and media relations strategy in technology, SaaS and/or B2B. 
  •  In-house (client side) experience at a start-up (Series C and later) or high-growth enterprise, with ability and experience to deliver results  in dynamic, hyper-growth environments 
  • An egoless doer who is willing to roll up their sleeves when needed 
  • Proven track record designing and leading successful national public relations campaigns
  • High- proficiency in comms strategy and planning across owned, earned and paid channels.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to think bigger picture, dive into the details, and deliver on communication, brand, and industry marketing needs.
  • Experience writing, editing and publishing earned media content including press releases, thought leadership content, industry communications and social media content  featuring consistent messaging across all channels. Citable examples of passionate and creative B2B technology and clean energy content is a plus.
  • Constant curiosity and capability to understand technical products, initiatives, and has the ability to break them down to comprehensive communications for the media and industry thought leaders.
  • Clear communication style and ability to ruthlessly prioritize 
  • Interest in leveraging their existing media relationships while building new ones that are managed in-house. Relationships in technology, business and clean energy - at both the national and local level - a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on collaboration, proactivity, and flexibility with a super power that rallys people and inspires others to get things done.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment & adapt to shifting priorities 

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in media interviews
  • Ability to drive content creation, including SEO keyword development
  • Local market and media landscape  knowledge
