We are looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure for solar systems. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. <h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul> <li>Inspect electrical systems, equipment or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repair, and to assure compliance with state and local codes</li> <li>Carry out Service Upgrades needed for interconnection</li> <li>Meet with City and/or Town Inspectors to inspect the Solar installs</li> <li>Energize, test and commission the solar systems with and without the utility</li> <li>Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment, hand tools and power tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem</li> <li>Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance</li> <li>Direct or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and equipment</li> <li>Provide supervision of electrical crews on code issues and proper installation procedures</li> <li>Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand or power tools</li> <li>Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors</li> <li>Follow organizational Policies and Procedures including OSHA requirements. Complete OSHA training as required</li> <li>Oversee materials and equipment ordered to make sure that they are code compliant</li> <li>Attend and/or run organization safety &amp; other training meetings as required</li> <li>Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them</li> <li>Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units</li> </ul>Requirements<ul> <li>Proven experience as an electrician</li> <li>Must be journeyman/E1 or E2 electrician</li> <li>Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines</li> <li>Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability</li> <li>Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight</li> <li>Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician</li> <li>Valid license to practice profession</li> </ul>Benefits<ul> <li>Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental &amp; Vision)</li> <li>Retirement Plan (401k)</li> <li>Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick &amp; Public Holidays)</li> </ul>
