Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our Richmond, VA office location. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the accounting group. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and is eager to learn accounting-specific processes. The position is primarily in-office, in our Richmond headquarters. This position has the potential for cross training and growth within the accounting department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Administrative Support<ul><li>Coordinate meetings, team events, and calendar scheduling</li><li>Manage incoming communications, including emails and phone calls, and ensure timely follow-up</li><li>Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)</li><li>Prepare internal documents and reports as needed</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Accounting Team Support<ul><li>Assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and data entry</li><li>Support reconciliation tasks and document preparation for audits</li><li>Help maintain financial records and assist with month-end close activities</li><li>Learn and apply accounting software tools and internal systems</li><li>Provide backup support for accounting team members during peak periods</li></ul></li></ul>Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, with a concentration in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.</li><li>Previous experience in accounting, administrative or office support role preferred</li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)</li><li>Willingness to learn accounting processes and tools</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion</li></ul>
