Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.

The IT ERP Security Engineer works to understand the ERP business processes and security requirements.  This role will understand, propose, and develop/implement appropriate solutions for the ERP System.  The ERP Security Engineer will work in Python, XML, PostgreSql, and JavaScript as required to develop and maintain ERP (Odoo) security Groups & roles and assignments as required.  This role will be responsible for the complete development, documentation, testing, and deployment of the developed security solutions.
This role will located at either Devens, MA or Milpitas, CA.

This team member will:

  • Work with the Business Analyst and the Business stakeholders to develop security solutions that meet the agreed upon requirements 
  • Work with the IT colleagues to ensure that solutions are compatible with the defined standards and scalable
  • Design & develop security solutions and write code as appropriate in response to the business needs including Groups, record rules, and access rights  
  • Implement the security solution ensuring that the capabilities and restrictions are properly evaluated
  • Conduct defect analysis and perform necessary updates and enhancements
  • Assist in unit testing solutions
  • Troubleshoot production problems in a timely manner
  • Work in compliance with programming and documentation standards
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements within their ERP security & programming skill set and the ERP (Odoo) platform
  • All other developer duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • BS in an IT-related field or equivalent business experience.
  • Significant experience as a security analyst/developer for ERP in a fast paced, dynamic and growing environment
  • Experience coordinating third party vendors
  • Experience working with custom solutions and code customization
  • Odoo ERP (preferred)
  • Experience with Odoo security Groups, record rules, and access rights.  Experience in creating, modifying, and assigning to users
  • Python
  • XML
  • Javascript a plus
  • Relational Databases (Postgres preferred)
  • Learn quickly and adapt to new information and environments
  • Possess excellent problem solving skills
  • Have attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to provide updates on Applications and projects status
  • Have an agile mindset to provide solutions quickly with an incremental value to customers

Additional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Odoo ERP Security
  • Good understanding of SaaS and ERP Security topics
  • Experience as an ERP Security analyst or developer 
  • Experience with JIRA or other Agile PM tools
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Ability to perform activities for extended periods of time such as typing, standing, and sitting
