Job Description

Running Tide is an ocean technology company built to tackle humanity's most urgent challenge: climate change. We build cutting-edge solutions that integrate engineered and biological systems to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, restore ecosystems, and secure food systems. Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers, and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning.
We are looking for an assembly technician to expand our team’s production capability. This verification team is designing and producing reliable hardware at increasing volume. Our hardware is custom built and made for a harsh ocean environment. The right person for this role is self-motivated and excited to learn new skills and technologies. We are looking for someone with hands-on mechanical or electrical assembly experience.

You Will

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Follow engineering specifications and manufacturing standards
  • Perform manual assembly of component parts into complete verification systems
  • Work with the engineering team to develop and improve work instructions
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections on components and assemblies
  • Document assembly and test activities for build records
  • Track and document stock quantities necessary to meet production timelines
  • Work in a stationary position about 50% of the time
  • Move around office and shop space, operate office and shop tools (hand tools, drills, scales, calipers), move shop equipment weighing up to 50lbs

You Are (or You Have):

  • Able to work independently while efficiently communicating to the team
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Team player with high-degree of ownership and drive
  • Experience making or repairing electrical/mechanical devices (e.g. automotive maintenance, hobby soldering, home improvement, troubleshooting consumer electronics, building a PC)

Bonus Points

  • Technical Vocational/Trade School Degree
  • Professional experience in electrical/mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or quality control
  • Passion for combating climate change

Compensation

  • Non-Exempt Hourly
  • $15-30 per hour (depending on experience level)
