You will help shape research and analysis on Indonesia’s energy transition, with a focus on the power sector—evaluating corporate financial structures of major energy-oriented companies, looking at coal transition mechanisms, advancing renewable energy development, exploring financing mechanism for coal to clean energy transition and national grid investment, and assessing policies that are shaping Indonesia’s transition. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently in a remote setting, effectively managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Working knowledge in investment decisions and corporate activities are required. Prior experience in corporate or project finance preferred.</li><li>A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering and/or with professional certifications (e.g. CFA) or appropriate and relevant market-oriented experience in lieu of those degrees.</li><li>Understanding of industry, policy and financial landscape in energy markets, with an emphasis on Indonesia’s power sector.</li><li>Ability to analyze financial statements and corporate accounts, with an understanding of evaluating financial and operational performance metrics as presented in official filings.</li><li>Experience conducting quantitative analysis on energy, finance and/or economic issues; financial modelling capabilities are preferred.</li><li>Professional proficiency in writing in English and excellent narrative-building and writing skills demonstrated through publications, reports, and commentaries.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and through presentations) and with good political judgment to media, finance, and government stakeholders.</li><li>High degree of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications.</li><li>Must possess a commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable energy economy.</li></ul> Compensation and BenefitsFull-time 12-month fixed-term contract with the option of extension by mutual agreement and a market-competitive remuneration. Fee to be negotiated based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. TravelSome travel is required.
