This leadership role manages a team of AP professionals (on-site and remote), establishes best practices, drives process improvements within Procure to Pay, and ensures alignment with organizational financial goals.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and manage the accounts payable team (MD &amp; NC) to ensure accurate and timely payment processing across all company departments and vendors.</li><li>Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.</li><li>Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and account reconciliations.</li><li>Ensure accurate maintenance of AP records, vendor master files, and tax documentation (e.g., W-9, 1099s).</li><li>Manage the AP automation tools and ERP systems; work closely with IT and treasury/finance teams on system enhancements or implementations.</li><li>Monitor KPIs such as Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), payment accuracy, and processing time; generate regular reports for senior leadership.</li><li>Collaborate with procurement, treasury, and other departments to streamline procure-to-pay processes.</li><li>Handle complex payment issues, vendor escalations, and dispute resolution in a timely and professional manner. Including vendor inquiry management within the team.</li><li>Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and corporate policies.</li><li>Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate AP team members; foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer service, respect and professional development.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).</li><li>10+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable/shared services, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, and internal controls.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle) and AP automation tools.</li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Proven ability to lead teams, manage large volumes of transactions, and drive process improvements.</li><li>Effective communicator with strong interpersonal, customer service and vendor management skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in private organizations.</li><li>Background in shared services.</li><li>Managing remote teams.</li><li>Familiarity with e-invoicing and electronic payment solutions, OCR and Fresh Desk</li></ul><p><strong>Travel requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days on-site per week.
