Position Description Advanced Energy United (United) is currently seeking a highly energetic, smart, self-starting candidate with a background in legislative work, issue advocacy, coalition building, and/or organizing to lead United’s legislative and political engagement in California. The Senior Principal will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with legislative and administrative decision-makers in California, managing and executing on United’s California strategy, and working collaboratively with other United team members to achieve successful policy outcomes that expand markets for the advanced energy industry. This work will also include educating decision-makers and candidates about advanced energy and facilitating United member company engagement with decision-makers and candidates. Specific areas of focus may include energy affordability, clean energy and transmission infrastructure, grid resilience and flexibility, transportation and building electrification, and western regional market formation.
